Training Programs

The Institute provide specialized training in the following areas:
I- Advanced Training for Military Personnel
The Institute provides training programs including short-term and medium-term courses. Such modules includes intensive training (for ranging periods of time) on issues relating to multilateral diplomacy, human security, conflict resolution, cooperative security measures, International cooperation, WMD free zones .. etc. In medium-term courses a practical assignment is envisaged, usually carried out at an associate/partner organization.

II- Capacity Building and Leadership Skills for Civil Defense Personnel
Advanced courses are also provided for senior personnel at Civil Defence departments. Such course aims at developing preparedness, enhancing leadership skills at civil defence organizations as well as humanitarian and relief organizations. Generally, courses are prepared to facilitate the implementation of United Nations policies and strategies on crises management and disaster reduction.

III- Curriculum Development
Committed to its academic mandate, the Institute works on developing specialized curriculums on security and strategic issues. Currently, the following curriculums are being developed:
A- Weapons of Mass Destruction … Strategic and Legislative Dimensions
This curriculum is in Arabic and available for military college affiliates as well as graduate students in various disciplines, such as Law and International Relations.

B- Formulating and Implementing a Strategy on Disaster Management
This course is being developed in close coordination with UN-ISDR and offered to Civil Defense Staff members as well as members of relief and response organizations.
